All three are 9:16. None of them treat 9:16 the same way.

Safe area at a glance

TikToktop 12% / bottom 18% covered
Reelstop 14% / bottom 22% covered
Shortstop 10% / bottom 20% covered

Pacing rules of thumb

  • TikTok rewards the first 1 second — the hook must land before the second beat.
  • Reels gives you 2 seconds before the swipe risk spikes.
  • Shorts is more forgiving early, but punishes 60 s+ clips that overstay.

Export deltas

  • TikTok: 10–14 Mbps, 30/60 fps.
  • Reels: 8–12 Mbps, 30 fps mostly.
  • Shorts: 10–16 Mbps, 30/60 fps.
